Missing home, but relishing adventure in a new land; confused by unfamiliar language and customs while broadening horizons; a citizen of the World but a foreigner in every land; the lived experience of an immigrant is nothing if not complex. Insieme should know! For this concert, performers from 5 countries and 3 continents bring you everything from Stravinsky to Chevalier S. George, Graigner to Weil in a varied programme of music and poetry written by great artists who, each for their own reasons, left their homelands and made new lives for themselves elsewhere. We hope that through their art and our performances we can capture a little of the exhilaration and introspection in the heart of every immigrant!
